Learn About Ways that People on the Spectrum Communicate

Topics In My Blog

01

Anxiety

I personally have different ways that I cope with anxiety, and I think it’s important to lift the taboo and start coping. Anyone can have anxiety, no matter where they are on the spectrum. I have often been told that I am good at calming people down, and I would love to hear from any paraprofessionals about what they like to do to bring things back to normal in their classrooms when anxiety levels rise. Personally, I like to practice self- care and try to live within a routine. Things aren’t always going to go the way I want, but I can monitor my reactions and keep things on an even keel.

Feedback

I like to hear from others who have ways of checking in with their feelings. I think people often don’t pay attention to what they are feeling in each moment. I know that for anyone, but especially those on the spectrum, feelings can seem overwhelming. But I think self awareness and monitoring my reactions keep me in check with my feelings.

03

Mental Health

Helping those on the spectrum stay positive. We all have mental health, but it hasn’t been until recent years that the importance of positive mental health has been promoted in mainstream. My goal is to always keep an eye on my mental health, and encourage others to do the same.
